Michelin-starred restaurants in Portugal
The Michelin Guide has become the most famous restaurant guide, with the world's best chefs competing for its stars. There are 53 Michelin-starred restaurants in Portugal and 26 Bib Gourmand restaurants. Current information for 2026.
Sometimes gourmet tourists complain that Portuguese cuisine, although delicious, is simple and uncomplicated. Perhaps they don't know that there are restaurants in Portugal with original cuisine!

One star was awarded to “Ó Balcão” restaurant, chef Rodrigo Castelo, specializing in fish, Santarém. The same restaurant also received a “Michelin Green Star”, which means that the cuisine adheres to the principles of sustainability, eco-friendly.
One star for a restaurant in the suburb of Viseu, an hour's drive from Coimbra, “Mesa de Lemos”, chef Diogo Rocha. The restaurant also has a “Michelin Green Star”.
One star for "Herdade de Esporão", at the winery of the same name, chef Carlos Teixeira, Reguengos de Monsaraz, two hours by car east of Lisbon. The restaurant also has a “Michelin Green Star”.
